Soulcircle alight in Rocks Laneway

Local artist Lynda Howitt has a unique appreciation for the ocean that members of the public will be able to see when her artwork splashes into Rocks Laneway later this month.

‘Soulcircle’ is the latest exhibition to be featured in the Lightbox Gallery and aims to bring peace to viewers through the colours and fluidity of the sea.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the exhibition space gave new opportunities to local artists.

“We have a very creative community and the Lightbox Gallery in Rocks Laneway gives them a platform to showcase their work,” he said.

“Artists of all ages and skills are encouraged to express their interest in exhibiting – we want to showcase the depth of talent in Geraldton in one of our newly transformed spaces.

“Congratulations to local artist Lynda Howitt for being the third artist to feature in the Lightbox Gallery.”

Ms Howitt’s artworks embody the ocean, having been painted close to the sea and using seawater, which allows the artworks to become sea-salt encrusted.

‘Soulcircle’ will be available for all to see in Rocks Laneway from Friday 31 January to Saturday 4 April.
