Facilitated by Wren Richards and Julie Barratt from DADAA, we are excited to present this collaborative workshop to young people aged 12 – 18 over 2 hours of creative learning and making. With no experience required, you will be taught all you need to know, and enjoy the low-fi and accessible nature of Zines.

This is an opportunity for you to connect with like-minded people, explore a new medium or new format and enjoy some relaxing and fun art making.

We will be supplying materials but if you have old magazines, drawings/paintings, photos, fabric scraps or a particular medium you would like to include then you are welcome and encouraged to bring them along!

So what is a Zine? They are independent or self-published publications, often handmade, and informed by DIY ethos. In the workshops we will be focusing on Japanese binding or foldable one page zines. We explore collage and tile pattern design with a focus on understanding ourselves and what brings us joy as a theme.

We would love to see your face if this interests you and will reiterate here you need no experience to join this workshop, just an open mind!
