ABOUT
Drawing from the City of Greater Geraldton’s Art Collection Living Landscapes presents varied depictions and perspectives of the land, from traditional European to First Nations and contemporary works.
The selection along with companion pieces reflects on our relationship to the land that holds, feeds and homes us. Living Landscapes contemplates our consuming impact on the environment and the responsibility we have to care for the earth that nurtures and sustains all life.
Ingrid Horn, Curator
Ingrid Horn first curated in 2019 as part of The Alternative Archive Project, a survey of regional contemporary arts practice. Working with a number of local artists, she was mentored by Eve York, Sara Walker and Anna Louise Richardson. She was invited by previous Gallery Coordinator Marina Baker to curate an exhibition of women artists in 2021, ‘Now You See Me’ and again in 2022, ‘The Town Hall 1907-1984’ & ‘The Banksia Ball 50th Anniversary’ exhibitions. Ingrid was co-judge for the Gascoyne Art Prize in 2021 and 2023.
An ally to First Nations People and a believer in art’s potential to consider important issues, she’s happy to be working with the City Art Collection and GRAG staff again.
