EXHIBITING 1 OCTOBER 2022 - 15 JANUARY 2023

THE TOWN HALL 1907 - 1984

Drawing from the Geraldton Regional Library Local History Collection, City of Greater Geraldton Art Collection and many generous contributors, this exhibition aims to portray the importance of a building at the heart of our community, a place that has held our laughter and sometimes our tears. The exhibition is made even more poignant with the knowledge that the old Geraldton Town Hall was very nearly lost, saved only by a small group of passionate locals known as the Friends of the Town Hall (FRoTH).

The Banksia Ball 50th Anniversary

A celebration of Geraldton’s First Sun City – Aboriginal 'Banksia Ball' held in 1972, the exhibition aims to commemorate this important historical occasion. Providing an immersive experience through the private Abdullah Family archives, the exhibition includes professional photographs by Gilda Studio, with additional items courtesy of the Geraldton Regional Library Local History Collection and the State Library of Western Australia providing historical context.
