This year’s Mid West Art Prize Opening Night has a unique twist and will be a celebration under the stars as the prestigious event takes to the streets of Geraldton.

Chapman Road will serve as the venue for the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery’s (GRAG) signature exhibition, which will be rounded out with the shortlisted artworks, live music, outdoor bar, food stall plus the fabulous Master of Ceremonies Famous Sharron.

Winners of the five award categories will be announced on the night.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn looks forward to the occasion.

“It is gearing up to be an excellent night in Geraldton and if you haven’t secured your free tickets as yet I would recommend doing so quickly because this will book-out,” he said.

“The Mid West Art Prize showcases the innovation and quality of art being created in Western Australia, and is always a fantastic exhibition.

“A big thank you to our partners Yamaji Art, Member for Geraldton Lara Dalton MLA, Bowman-Bright and Latitude Jewellers.”

Gates open at 6pm for the 2021 Mid West Art Prize Opening Night, with Gallery viewing from 6.30pm and formalities commencing at 7pm on Saturday 27 November.

All artworks shortlisted are new pieces that have never been exhibited previously and will be on show until Sunday 30 January 2022.
