GREAT WHITE SHARK | Community Art Project Geraldton

Past Event

Join West Australian artist Ross Potter for a FREE community graphite sketching workshop over four days in April in Geraldton's vacant Rocks Building on Marine Terrace!

Participants will each contribute to a large-scale temporary artwork featuring a Great White Shark, whilst learning graphite rendering techniques from the master himself!

Everyone is given a small square section of the Shark to draw, and when the pieces have all been sketched and collected, a grid method is used to fix them to the wall to reveal the final giant Great White Shark!

BOOKING REQUIRED LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE
To secure your spot in one of eight workshops over the WoWFest weekend contact CGG's Arts and Cultural Development Officer Marnie Douglas on (08) 9956 6968 or email marnied@cgg.wa.gov.au

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ross Potter is a Western Australian artist based in Fremantle.
Originally from Brisbane, Potter made his move to the West Coast in 2007, working in the steel industry and creating art in his spare time. Ross’s passion for the arts continued to grow as his practice developed, leading him to pursue his artistic career full time in 2013. With his studio now based at the J-Shed in Fremantle's West End, Ross has led graphite workshops with the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the City of Fremantle and Mundaring Arts Centre!

Those of you might remember his finalist entry 'Fremantle Power Station' on show in the Mid West Art Prize 2017 - we can't wait to welcome Ross back to Geraldton!
